as for the above post .... while the 3rd place game is far from over , england's 2nd team seems better that france's #1 squad !
Yeah haha, might be the most exciting game to watch this WC. My first serious, big miss, though I did say they aren't as big faves as people believed. Plus, at this stage stakes are as high as the unpredictability. To see France who were conceding less that 1g on average to be down 0-4 at HT? Seem they have larger problems than I noticed before, not to take away any credit from England of course.

Happy for England, really!

I'm going with Argentina as champions; I think it will be a very scrappy game given Spain's style, but Argentina will find openings through Messi and emerge as champions once again. 1-0.
Solid take. I don't think they will manage a clean sheet (no emotion, pure stats). But Argentina's spirit and passion is sure stronger.

Disgusting dark bugs? Have more pirate respect when you talk about others,
I'm not saying they are dark bugs. The dark arts refers to, the sneaky fouls, diving, constant surrounding the ref, feigning injury, all to excessive levels way higher than any other team at the WC. Then in English/England, referring to someone as a pest, is actually a polite/funny way of suggesting they are annoying.

Apologies if you were offended.

I assume your use of the term 'pirates' to me and Ox has some sort of historical political context to do with the Falklands, so I suggest you take your own advice and also have some respect!

I think this was the best World Cup match of all time, with lots of goals, lots of chances, lots of individual performances, series of tricks, etc.

What are you talking about? The English goalkeeper did everything to delay every goal kick when England was 1-0 up against Argentina, until both times he asked with gestures for a break to hydrate xd. The term pirate is what marks history, not only with Argentina but also the history of what they were. History is not erased. Regards.

Oh friend! If that happens and they deserve it in good time. Even so, we will still have 3 world cups and the best player in history, the victory against the English leaving them out of the final was the joy of this world cup:)

The press has almost dismissed the bronze medal match as uninteresting for the national team.
It seems that it was not for the English. They have won a medal for the first time in sixty years.
And Tuchel didn't throw the bronze medal into the crowd, like Mourinho used to throw the silver.

I don't think we can expect a similar match today as yesterday. The French took the first half very lightly.
They wrote things like that the French were ruining football and their country.
Then it's possible they were informed about the comments during the break.

In other news, FIFA is brimming with money. The ticket prices for the final are crazy hahaha. While we are all arguing with everyone, FIFA is raising money with a shovel

He brought up the Falklands earlier in the thread in response to comments about football too , and he will do again , it's part of their national psyche.

It's also a nonsense - Argentina's claim to the Falklands, an island they briefly administered for ~4 years nearly two centuries and is about 500km from their coast is laughable. It exists only as an issue to distract Argentinians from the fact that for nearly a century their country has been a joke , moving from one of the largest economies in the world to one that is now smaller than countries like Malaysia and Vietnam, under leaders even worse than the ones the rest of us have. So they periodically whip up people to be upset about the Falklands so that they might temporarily forget that their leaders are terrible and things continue to get worse, and judging by @seiya1989 's obsession with it, it clearly works.

You know what I think or feel about. Politicians are the worst thing we've had in decades, but one thing doesn't disparage the other. But apparently you're not very thoughtful. A piece of land is the least of it. The problem I have with pirates was that they came to invade and kill our people, that's the problem. Just over 40 years ago my parents lost friends in that war. And you come to want to understand my psyche? Das pity

You can react to these things in any way you wish. I have no invested interest in British colonial past, and know very little about the Falklands, as I was a kid when it was happening.
As a general rule I disagree with the vast majority of what we as a nation did historically, and its awful that your family has lost people due to the conflict.

Just to be clear, I did not do this, I did not sanction or agree with or vote for it. If you want respect here, from me, in the present time you still have to earn it. Which for me you are not doing by bringing up a 40 year old conflict simply because I'm English. You can disagree with my view of what happened on a football pitch, but do not connect me in with things that happened a long time ago that I had nothing to do with barring being born in a country that was involved!

Yes. You're right about that, I apologize to you

It sure is? Saw some stats like we finally have match in this World Cup where one team sits on 0 shots after 90 minutes

Obviously it had to happen in the final ...

Respect earned :)

The game is still afoot! Can they last out to penalties?? Not sure how that goal being ruled out was not looked at by VAR, what are your thoughts?

Because the referee already paused the game before the actual goal. Maybe gaucho stood on his feet but i honestly dont see it even after watching multiple angles.

Obv "fouled" guy plus keeper crying 😅 what to expect from that Team 😆

Edit: "GOOOOOOOOOOOL" Lfg Spain!!!!
